EWiRaC: Efficient Wide Range Converter
EWiRaC highlights
The EWiRaC topology effectively cuts the input voltage variation by a factor of 2 and enables down-conversion as well as up-conversion in one stage.
This leads to:
- Selectable output voltage
- Continues input current - also in step down mode
- Reduced boost inductor size - up to 50% reduction
- Reduced semiconductor stresses
- Inherent inrush control
- Reduced HF capacitor currents
AC/DC Solutions for server and telecom applications
The WorldPower™ AC/DC solution platform from Upcon Technology will be available in Q4 2008.
The Industry leading efficiency of 95%-96% over an operation range from 20%-80% load will have a significant impact on the operations cost of future server installations.
